Lewis Hamilton career
Lewis Hamilton has been sponsored by Ron Dennis since he was a youngster in karts and was given his break into F1 for the 2007 season. With seven finishes on the podium in his first seven races, and finishing his first season as runner up he is a young man making a big impact in the sport. In 2008 Hamilton became the youngest F1 World Champion with an overtaking manoeuvre on the last lap to give him the championship by 1 point. The 2009 season got off to a poor start and his first win was in Round 10 in Hungary. Improvements to the car gave him a better second half to the 2009 season. The 2010 season was much more competitive, with Lewis Hamilton winning three races and still in with a chance of the drivers title going into the last race of the season. There followed several seasons of finishing 4th in the championship, but then things changed for him, when he move to Mercedes in 2013 and with the introduction of the new hybrid engines in 2014. He and Mercedes then dominated the championship and in 2018 he became only the third driver to win 5 drivers championships and in 2020 matched the record of 7 drivers championships. In 2021 he became the most successful drive in F1 with the most race wins. At the start of the 2024 season he announced he was moving to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Instagram
